Nursing Care, Respite Care & Short-Term Stays
The Riders is a nursing care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 18 people. The service provides support for younger and older adults living with physical disabilities, and/or mental health needs, including people living with dementia.
The Riders provides en-suite bedrooms across two floors in an adapted building. People have access to communal areas, including a garden, dining room and two lounges.
We understand that carers may need a break from time to time and sometimes a change of environment can be beneficial to patients or residents. Therefore, at The Riders we also provide respite care for some individuals who wish to use our services on a short term basis.
Nursing care
At The Riders we specialise in providing high quality nursing care and rehabilitation services. Our focus is on delivering specialised, clinical support in a bespoke environment, led by a competent multi-disciplinary team.
Understanding the intricate needs of the service users, our team is well placed to address their often complex nursing and healthcare needs.
Our nursing care home service covers a wide range of conditions for adults aged 18 and over, including sensory and physical disabilities, complex health needs and mental health difficulties. We provide individually-tailored provision for personal care, health and well-being, rehabilitation and community activities.
Respite care and short term stays
Also referred to as a short stay, respite care is a temporary living arrangement at a care home. At The Riders our respite stays range from a few days to weeks dependent on the individual’s needs. In some cases, respite stays are extended however an agreement will need to be reached for this to occur.
Visiting your loved one during a respite stay
Here at The Riders, we understand the importance of reassurance and familiarity for all our new respite residents therefore, we do allow settling in visits. We do this to allow all our patients to settle in comfortably as we understand that the change of environment may be difficult for some and adaption for new residents can be smoother with familiar faces around. However, we do this adhering to the safety protocols put place, ensuring that all our residents and staff are safe. The wellbeing and safety of all our residents is very important to us and we take all the necessary steps in assisting all our respite stay residents. We do have a lovely area designated specifically for loved ones to spend time during the visiting hours allowing the residents to settle and get comfortable. Due to Covid, we continue to follow the government guidelines, however changes may occur at any time and we will keep you updated.
